Description

The MA module in Advanced Translation from and into Spanish provides students with an opportunity to get to grips with translation processes practically. In class, we commonly go over the intricacies of the translation process, working with different texts and registers. These include literary texts, humoristic texts, medical texts, journalistic texts and children’s literature, among others.

The classes are typically structured with a theoretical introduction to the subject followed by seminars where students are required to actively participate in commentary and translation exercises. The students are set some theoretical readings or exercises before class. Some classes have homework that needs to be completed before the following class. We normally have a high number of international students and therefore texts are translated from and into Spanish.
