40-year alumni reunion

A 40-year alumni reunion took place on 27 October 2007, with 130 alumni who left ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûin 1966, 1967 and 1968 attending the day to celebrate 40 years since their graduation.
The event comprised a drinks reception, a three-course lunch, a choice of activities in the afternoon and a champagne reception. After lunch, Art Wasserman, UCL's Director of Development & Corporate Communications, introduced speeches by Jane Fenoulhet, Executive Dean of ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûArts & Humanities, and Michael White (ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûHistory 1966), Assistant Editor of 'The Guardian'.
Jane spoke about recent developments at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûand drew comparisons with the size of the institution back in the 1960s. Michael then gave a highly entertaining speech recalling memories about student days at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûin the 1960s.
In the afternoon alumni had the opportunity to visit the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûPetrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology and attend a talk on 'The Cinema in the '60s' by Dr Melvyn Stokes of ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûHistory. The day concluded with drinks in the Flaxman Gallery, where alumni met with ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûPresident and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant.
