Slade School of Fine Art hosts second print fair

26 November 2014

The ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûSlade School of Fine Art is hosting its second annual Print Fair from this Wednesday (26th November) to Friday (28th November), featuring an eclectic range of prints and multiples produced by the School's faculty and students.

A group of Slade School of Fine Art students promote the print fair

Now in its second year, the fair has been conceived as a way to enable anyone to own an original artwork and, through the proceeds, fund student scholarships at the School. Prints start at just £20.

Collectors will have the opportunity to snap up pieces from the School's emerging talent as current students will showcase their designs at the show.

Following on from the success of Phyllida Barlow's creation of a print for the first Slade Editions collection last year - a one-off collection by a guest artist produced for each fair - Lisa Milroy, Head of Graduate Painting at the Slade, has produced a series of four silk scarf designs based on her original paintings.

All the proceeds from the sale of the scarves will also go to funding scholarships for students.

Speaking about the print fair, Professor Susan Collins, Director of the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûSlade School of Fine Art, said:

"The Slade print fair is the place to pick up affordable original editions by both established artists and the best of London's emerging talent - our students. "Proceeds raised from the print fair will directly support students through scholarships, meaning that anyone buying a print will have a unique piece of art and the knowledge that they'll be supporting the next generation of artists."

The Slade School of Fine Art Print Fair takes place at the Slade Research Centre, Woburn Square, from 12 noon to 5pm Weds and Thurs and 12 noon to 6pm Friday.
